OUR NONPROFIT PROGRAMS
FOR THE YOUTH
Passion Over Profit Foundation envisions being a source of hope at the heart of local communities, offering renewed and realistic chances to underprivileged families so they can engage in meaningful pursuits. We are committed to diverse and holistic activities that develop these people into responsible and active citizens.

BUILDING A STRONG
FOUNDATION FOR THE YOUTH
Passion Over Profit Foundation molds the youth in DeKalb, Illinois into the best versions of themselves by tapping into their full potential with various programs. We focus on school-going teens in the 13- to 18-year age bracket. We provide education and mentoring initiatives that better equip them to charter their own paths, and become leaders in the paths they choose.
Mentorship is offered through various initiatives that, in general, provide foundational awareness of the intricate issues as they transition through life. We seek to help these young people navigate the trials in their lives and celebrate the accomplishments of overcoming them.
EMPLOYMENT
We are continually building relationships with business communities for the benefit of gaining employment opportunities for young people. We will groom them on the skills required to get and keep jobs. We endear to prevent the “survival mode mindset” that gets them into criminal and immoral activities to make easy money or earn a living.

Guest Speakers
We will routinely have guest speakers . This creates a opportunity for mentees to learn from prominent individuals from all walks and fields of life. We believe this to be impactful to the mind set of the youth. There's a saying from a great motivational speaker Mr. Eric Thomas, "I do not take constructive criticism from people who have never constructed anything". In many situations being able to relate fosters a connection that creates the ability to convey the message clearly.
BARBERSHOP TALK
TEENAGE MENTORSHIP
This is a live interactive platform that exposes the youth to the wisdom of respectable and experienced community members. The barbershop has long been regarded as a place for exchanging ideas between peers, and we seek to promote this trend.
Whether it is information about education, life skills, school struggles, relationships with parents, or places where they can seek help, we collate advice for teens during their vulnerable years to cultivate healthy behaviors that build resilience and self-esteem.
JUVENILE JUSTICE
Through our project H.O.P.E (Having Opportunity Purpose & Education), we aim to keep at-risk youth from lifestyles that keep them on the radar of the justice system. A member of the foundation is on the Dekalb County Juvenile Justice Commitee in order to target and intervene with at risk youth. The juvenile Justice Commitee is a state wide program. In conjunction with several organizations within the Committee the common goal is to prevent entry and decrease re-entry of our youth into the judicial system.
Our mission is to help hurting and at-risk youth go back to school, stay in school, and complete school. All youth within project H.O.P.E or under Profit Over Passion Foundation may choose to register for classes that offer theoretical and life lessons on:
* Self-Awareness, Self-Esteem, and Self-Improvement (Julian McElroy)
* Intervention & Prevention (Guest Speaker Menelek Shah)
* The Value Of Education
* Entrepreneurship & Defying The Odds (Jonathan Thompson)
* Finances & Sports (Guest Speaker Jeff Myles)
* Interpersonal Skills
* Social Justice
* Surviving vs Survival Mode

THE POWER OF READING
We believe in the wise words of Joseph Addison that “reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” As such, we strive to impart all the necessary information and education that empowers them to identify their potential and gain vital life skills. We have a book club platform for interactive reading and discussions. We believe this keeps the mind sharp while boosting confidence and creativity.
From the skills gained, the youth will be able to upgrade their lives, families, and the community at large.
On top of all these resources, we have placed professional therapists and social workers at their disposal. These professionals are committed to promoting the social, emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being of our youth. They come in handy in generating opportunities for youth development as well as opportunities for the teens to express themselves.
Through it all, Passion Over Profit Foundation envisions being a source of hope at the heart of local communities, offering renewed and realistic chances to underprivileged families so they can engage in meaningful pursuits. We are committed to diverse and holistic activities that develop these people into responsible and active citizens.aav
